Sikh pre-wedding event with the backdrop of the crystalline sea

Kiran and Jas are a Sikh couple from the UK, who dreamed of getting married in Italy with a backdrop overlooking the water. It could be either sea or lake, as long as they were going to be surrounded by a blue and crystalline background, which it would have been difficult to find in the UK. With them we visited some venues with both sea and lake views, yet as soon as they set foot in our favorite Villa on the sea of Sorrento, their final decision was almost immediate: it was the right villa.

It is a villa in which we have already hosted several weddings and which we never tire of suggesting during our venue scouting service to those couples who look for a dreamy venue overlooking the sea. And this is because it is really difficult to find such a beautiful villa with such a unique backdrop, and which is at the same time, from a logistical point of view, easy enough to manage compared to many other venues on the Amalfi coast.

Kiran and Jas planned two days of events, which were divided between the various spaces of the villa. We started with separate Maiyans for groom and bride, on a romantic terrace overlooking Capri island – the perfect backdrop for this intimate event. The women of the two families prepared the Rangoli for the ritual. It was then followed by the fun part in which, first Jas and then Kiran were covered with turmeric paste for their haldi.

Just enough time for cleaning up, and Kiran was ready for her Choora ceremony. The ceremony was held in a small garden overlooking the sea, surrounded by flowers and columns. It is a very suggestive place with benches to relax and admire the immensity of the sea.

Jago party with the view of Capri

The first day ended with the Jago party, which the bride&groom wanted to be full of color. As you know, a Sikh pre-wedding event is focused on colors to convey that vibrant and joyful atmosphere. This event was held in another area of the estate, where there is an annex with another space. It features a beautiful and vast panoramic garden and a terrace with glass rails so as not to miss the magnificent view of the island of Capri.

To match the theme of their Jago, the side walls of the terrace were covered with drapes in various colors, in a combination of fuchsia, orange and emerald green. Matching the drapes, the cocktail tables on the terrace were also covered in colorful tableware. Guests were welcomed on the terrace with a limoncello station on the bar, to start the second part of the evening in the best possible way. In fact, the first part of the party took place on the lawn downstairs. We decorated it with marigold garlands, colorful cushions, Indian umbrellas and pink handmade tassels that we hung on a big tree to create

a photo corner. There was also the mehndi corner for the ladies who wanted to get their henna done by a talented local mehndi artist. However, the bride decided to have her bridal mehndi back home.

The welcome dinner was also held in this garden for which we set up round tables for the guests with colored tablecloth. Typical Italian dishes such as pizza, bruschetta and eggplant parmigiana were served during the dinner. Of course, the gelato cart could not be missing to delight the guests with a true Italian experience: a must-have for every Italian welcome party.

The beautiful sunset that could be seen from that terrace was definitely a plus to this event, as it left all the guests in awe. It was an amazing party, with DJ Harv – from Kudos music – had the crowd jumping and dancing all night. A day full of pre-wedding events that ended is the best possible way!
