Fusion Marathi Hindu wedding in a panoramic Villa in Tuscany
Neha&Connor are a glamourous couple from the U.S. who hired us to organize their micro-wedding in Italy. Only 30 guests! We have never had such a small Indian wedding. It was a fusion marriage as only Neha is Indian Marathi while Connor is American. Despite this, it was extremely important for them to entrust their wedding to the Indian wedding specialist in Italy and not to any wedding planner, as having the traditional Hindu ceremony was a must for them.
We did all the planning remotely, including choosing the venue because they couldn’t come to Italy. Thanks to our efficient Venues Scouting service, through which we not only select and offer couples the venues suitable for their wedding, but in case they are unable to come in person, we go to the villas to make video calls and show the spaces.
And it was exactly like this in this case, as we went to three villas and showed them via video call. From there they immediately had a clearer idea of the venues and their spaces and had no doubts about their final choice for their Hindu wedding: a romantic country house located near Lucca in Tuscany. It was perfect for their number of guests, both in terms of accommodation and of spaces – giving them the possibility of using various spots of the villa for different events.
The wedding lasted two full days. It started at the morning of the first day with Haldi. It then continued with Mehndi in the afternoon for both the bride and the guests, done by our talented partner Mehndi artist. The day finished with an elegant cocktail welcome party in the evening.
Intimate Hindu wedding ceremony
On the second day there was the Hindu ceremony. The Mandap was positioned on the most panoramic point of one of the villa’s gardens. Everyone enjoyed a breathtaking view of the valley of Lucca. The groom arrived on board a vintage red Alfa Romeo for his Baraat. The ceremony was conducted by our Pandit resident in Italy. He made the ceremony light and funny but at the same time respecting all the traditions, explaining them to the non-Indian guests.
For the entire organization of this wedding, the couple completely entrusted themselves to us and our team of suppliers. From the photo and video team to the priest, from the make-up artists to the mehndi artist, from the floral designer to the catering company specializing in Indian dishes – all the suppliers were suggested by us. For the lunch after the ceremony they had a full-Indian meal, while for dinner they opted for all Italian dishes.
The reception setup was simple but very elegant – thanks to the stunning backdrop of the villa there was no need for excessive decoration. The atmosphere was very relaxed with some background music during the dinner. Before the cake cutting the families gave their speeches to the newlyweds. The couple chose to have a particular wedding cake, the Cannoli tower! And then it was time for drinks and party!
It was a beautiful, very elegant and glamorous wedding, intimate though no less full of details. But what most of all made these two days of celebrations special was certainly the love of Neha and Connor that could be breathed in the air. Just as their closest family and friends were very happy to have participated in this beautiful event, for which they complimented us – and for which we were happy to have been part of.
