Emotional Hindu Wedding in Sorrento
Sheena and Mitesh was the first couple who opened the door to the incredible world of colorful and emotional Indian weddings to us, and we will always be grateful to them for that. They live in the UK and decided to hold their traditional Indian wedding at a beautiful historic villa near Sorrento. They felt in love with a view of the bay of Naples and the majestic volcano, Vesuvius, on one side and the island of Capri with its famous cliffs on the other. The villa was truly one of a kind, like no other in Italy. Its large lawn in the form of the prow of a ship points directly out towards the magnificent sea, offering exclusive, breathtaking views. This proved to be the perfect backdrop for the colorful and emotional Hindu ceremony rich with meaning and tradition.
The ceremony was followed by a buffet lunch out on the lawn and later an aperitif just as the sun began to set. The sky was painted in brilliant shades of pink, orange, and yellow, complimenting the many colors of the event itself. After lunch there was a pause to change outfits for the reception from the traditional ones worn for the ceremony to elegant and no less colorful Indian style dresses for the women and elegant suits for the men. Their perfect wedding day concluded with a refined dinner and plenty of dancing, leaving all with memories that will last for a lifetime of this Indian wedding made of dreams in Italy.
I found Svetlana through an Internet search. Me and my husband had enquired with several wedding planners however none of them were as responsive and efficient as Svetlana and Charis. As soon as I left some details of what it is we were looking for, I received a call from Charis. From the outset they were honest and upfront about everything and never gave us any false impressions – something which we had experienced with other planners. Neither Svetlana or Charis had ever organised an Indian wedding before, however they didn’t let
this effect the standard of service they delivered. Despite not knowing a lot about Indian traditions, they made our wedding day beyond magical. Everything was just as we wanted it, all the details were taken into consideration and above all they were both just very friendly and approachable throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to tie the knot in Italy. Svetlana and her team have extensive knowledge on various venues, caterers, florists – also a list of videographers and photographers they work closely with. There was nothing that they couldn’t do. I sent them several images when planning the wedding, and on the day they managed to create the exact vision of what we wanted. They were professional throughout it all but at the same time they took the time to get to know our family and spend time with them. Although they started of as our wedding planners, we would consider them no less than friends and hope to remain in touch with them for years to come. Thank you so much to both of you and to the rest of your team for giving us a day we will never forget. Almost a month on and our family and friends still can’t stop talking about it!
