Hindu pre-wedding events in Sorrento, Italy

An Indian wedding can’t be authentic without its pre-wedding ceremonies. And our lovely Dee and Jay decided to have their pre-wedding Hindu events in a beautiful historic Villa in Sorrento, Italy. This wedding venue boasts an incredible view of the sea,  and has amazing panoramic terraces as well as a private beach club. However, the weather was not on our side, but thanks to our vast experience we were prepared for any scenario. We were able to set up all the pre-wedding events in the

Villa’s indoor halls and create the typical setup of Hindu pre-wedding ceremonies. The first day was dedicated to the bridal Mehndi. We decorated one of the Villa’s indoor halls with colorful cushions, marigold garlands and authentic Indian umbrellas which made the atmosphere just perfect! Our henna artists created beautiful henna designs for the bride and the guests. Especially the bridal Mehendi pattern was just stunning, covering both arms and legs.

The rain didn’t ruin these Indian pre-wedding events

The bride’s Pithi ceremony took place during the second day. It was held in the Villa’s “greenhouse”,  beautifully decorated with original local ceramics matching the yellow outfits of the bridal party. The “greenhouse” also has a panoramic terrace  that boasts an unrivalled view over Capri Island, perfect for amazing pictures. Our own Indian decor was nothing more than perfect for this occasion, and the setup with cushions, umbrellas and marigold garlands created an authentic setting for this Hindu event. And even if at some point it started to rain, thanks to the glass ceiling of the “greenhouse” we enjoyed this indoor-outdoor feeling.

After an Indian lunch, cooked by our team Indian chef, it was time for the groom’s Puja with his family and the Pandit.

The Sangeet night was held in the venue’s panoramic veranda with glass-windows that offered the view of the sea despite the rain.  After pizza was served for dinner, it was time for the joyful traditional dances piloted by a great DJ from London!

The last pre-wedding event was the Mandvo ceremony performed in the morning of the wedding day. Fortunately, the sun was finally shining and the sea was of a deep blue creating an amazing backdrop for this Hindu event. The Mandap was already set up, as tradition dictates, and the bride and her family enjoyed this ceremony outdoors with the most incredible view of the sea – the perfect frame for this Indian destination wedding in Italy.
