Fairy Tale Sikh Wedding in an Italian Castle in Umbria
Harman has always dreamed of getting married in Italy and his bride Kavan wanted to make his dream come true. When she contacted us, it was November 2021. The wedding was scheduled for early April 2022, so just over 4 months to plan a 4-day wedding with about 80 guests. Both spouses were very busy with work and did not have much time to dedicate to the planning. Obviously, they wanted the certainty of relying on a planner who knew everything about Sikh weddings and who was also able to plan an authentic Anand Karaj and other events for them in a beautiful Italian venue, where to stay with all their guests.
This Sikh couple spent a whole week in a stunning Italian castle in Umbria, holding many traditional pre-wedding events, up to the last day with a romantic wedding.
Anand Karaj was held in the panoramic garden of the Castle. The bride wore a stunning brown gold lehenga, and the groom looked regal in his deep blu sherwani. Our engaging Dhol player made everyone dance in the Baraat. And our trusted floral designer created a stunning Mandap with burgundy color palette, using a large selection of fresh flowers. The traditional Sikh wedding ceremony was just beautiful, with raagi musicians playing kirtan, and Giani performing ardas from the holy book.
An important remark is the Indian food that was required for the lunch after the ceremony and some other events. The bride and groom and guests were delighted by the Indian preparations made by our team chef, and we received many compliments.
Magnificent wedding reception in white and gold
The final wedding reception was the highlight of this magnificent day. White and gold decor was just gorgeous, and everyone was in awe. The golden backdrop for the top table was made especially for the bride based on a drawing she made. Golden candelabra, leaves on the white flowers painted in gold, golden framed mirror used for the seating plan, golden tealights – everything matched perfectly.
And to remain in the color palette, the groom ordered bottles of Ace of Spade for every table – and they were gold too!All in all, the wedding was a great success, all the guests came to thank us and congratulate us. But the most important thing for us was the happiness of Kavan and Harman who didn’t stop saying that we had realized their dream, and that their wedding was a fairytale wedding.
We chose Italy because it’s Harman’s favorite destination, and we come all the way from California so we obviously needed someone to make this magic happen. And after hours of searching online for somebody that was well-versed in the Indian culture we came across Best Indian Weddings Italy on Instagram, and the pictures were mind-blowing. So we went on the website and we saw that Svetlana had
everything listed on there, everything we wanted, from the Gurdwara Gianis to all the traditions, and we were like “that’s it”, we didn’t reach out to anybody else because as we saw that we automatically knew that she was gonna make this the easiest process for us. And it’s been perfect so far, it actually has exceeded our expectations. We’ve gotten a lot more than I’ve even imagined would be here. So we’re actually very very happy and we’re so grateful to Svetlana’s company, cause this is like a dream come true.
