Breathtaking seaview wedding in Sorrento

Dee and Jay, a lovely couple from the UK, chose a beautiful seaview villa near Sorrento for their traditional Indian wedding and pre-wedding celebrations in Italy. The couple evaluated several Italian venues for their wedding, and when they visited this one during our viewing tour, they immediately fell in love with this unique venue and with its unrivalled views of Capri Island on one

side, and of the volcano Vesuvius on the other. The villa, boasting almost a 360° view of the sea is located on a top of a cliff and has a shape of a ship with a large manicured garden that makes you feel like diving into the blue. It was definitely the perfect place for this couple’s Indian wedding.

Hindu ceremony framed by the deep blue of the Italian sea

The Hindu ceremony was set up on the upper part of the Villa’s panoramic garden which offered a breathtaking view over the sea. The bride chose a candid Mandap, covered in white fabrics and decorated with flowers in pale pink and blue-violet to highlight the deep blue of the sea. After the first two days of bad weather, on the Indian wedding day we were blessed with a beautiful warm and sunny day, so that the couple could have a seaview ceremony in Italy, as they were dreaming of.

We started with the bride’s Mandvo early in the morning, which was then followed by the loud Baraat.  The groom made his grand entrance in a roaring white Porsche, escorted by his family and friends dancing to the rhythm of the Dhol players. Then the bride made her grand entrance in her stunning cream lehenga, escorted by her family. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed the lunch with Indian dishes, made possible thanks to our team Indian chef.

We always care about Indian traditions at our weddings, and providing vegetarian Indian lunch after the wedding is one of them.

The reception dinner was set up in the panoramic veranda with glass walls that can be kept closed or open, depending on the weather. We were lucky it was a warm September evening so we could keep the windows open and enjoy the sea breeze. The tables were decorated with amazing floral compositions in white and gold. And even the seating plan followed the gold theme with the names of the guests written by hand on a mirror framed in gold. The bride wore a gorgeous gold attire, and the wedding cake was decorated with gold flowers. The reception dancing was accompanied by the Dhol player and an amazing DJ who lit up the dance floor. Everyone had a great time (so did we!) and everything was simply perfect!

Best Weddings Italy were excellent! Offering a friendly face in Svetlana and methodical approach to planning was well received and executed to great expectations. Planning seemed a breeze in the early stages and we looked to be progressing steadily leading up to our initial date in May 2020. Enter COVID-19. After much uncertainly from the new year in 2020, we kept hopes alive and continued as best
