4-days Indian beach wedding celebrations in Italy
Shivona and Nikesh wanted a wedding outside the box, not a classic traditional Indian wedding with many events one after the other, but they wanted a beach holiday-wedding in Italy that was mainly fun, where they could spend quality time with their 100 guests and have various entertainment during the days. Just like going on a fun vacation with your friends. And that’s what we organized for them in a beautiful seaside resort in southern Italy surrounded by greenery, a stone’s throw from the sea with vast beaches.
A premise must be made, namely that Shivona and Nikesh are not a couple who found us on the internet or
on social media and who chose us after various searches for wedding planners. Though with them it continues the series of family weddings that we have organized for the same family starting from our first Indian couple, with whom we embarked on our adventure in this world. In fact, Shivona is the first cousin of our first Indian bride, and we already knew her from that very first wedding in 2016. So, we didn’t have to convince anyone of our skills, and we didn’t even have to do in-depth scouting. We had already talked about this beautiful resort to our long-time bride-friend, Sheena, as this place would have been perfect to host one of their family’s weddings.
Beach resort on the sea of Italy ticking all the boxes for this Indian wedding
In fact, when Shivona and Nikesh decided to get married in Italy, Sheena called us saying that they wanted to have their wedding there. This venue definitely ticked all the boxes. It’s big enough to accommodate all their guests, yet not too big to have other people around. It has a beautiful swimming pool, and also a wonderful beach club to be reached through a pine forest that opens onto a huge, white-sanded beach. And it is precisely this beach that they fell in love with, as they always wanted to get married on the beach. Since they decided to have the double wedding ceremony in Italy, both the Indian and the Civil one, they wanted to take advantage of this beautiful beach to celebrate both. And they were stuck on their idea of having the ceremony setup directly on the sand as close as possible to the shore.
The wedding was at the end of September. Fortunately the beach season was already closed, and we were able to create the ceremony setup right on the sand. To do this, we had to build a long aisle and a platform on the sand, both to make the bride and groom walk comfortably and also to give fullness to the setup and make everything more symmetrical. The Hindu and Civil ceremonies were held on two different days, so we could use the same aisle and platform but obviously changing the setup. For both ceremonies, the couple chose a neutral color palette, with ivory white and green. So, both the Mandap for the Hindu wedding and the arch for the civil ceremony were decorated with light fabrics and white flowers. The aisle was decorated with lanterns for the Hindu ceremony, and with white roses in the sand for the civil one.
Four crazy days full of fun and relax
Let’s go back to the beginning, because it all started with the pre-wedding events, including the welcome pool party in the large resort pool on the first day. Guests had fun with jumping in the pool, water games, inflatables, ice cream & sangria corners for a typical “welcome to Italy”. In the evening the pizza party was held in the pool area under the portico. The guests danced the night away with the DJ who is now part of the family, as he was part of all their weddings.
On the second day it was time for the traditional pre-wedding events. The Mandvo was held by the pool and the fun Haldi on the beach where the newlyweds were then thrown into the water. Unfortunately, it rained in the afternoon, but despite this, Shivona and Nikesh managed to have their photoshoot in the small town of Paestum. It’s a very characteristic place, with the Greek temples, located just a stone’s throw away. The photoshoot under the rain was very suggestive. After that, the couple got changed into their traditional outfits for their Sangeet night, which was held in a covered terrace of the venue. This beautiful terrace is all covered in typical Majolica flooring which matches perfectly with the bright colors of the traditional Sangeet outfits! Of course the guests performed their dances for the bride&groom and then the night continued with dancing!
For the Hindu ceremony, the groom chose an unconventional vehicle for his Baraat. He decided to arrive in a modern Vespa through the woods that lead to the beach! Definitely a first for us! After the ceremony then Nikesh drove Shivona on his Vespa for their send-off. The meal after the ceremony was cooked by a renowned Indian chef who lives in Italy. He was in charge of preparing the Indian meals for both Sangeet night and Hindu ceremony.
On the day of the Civil wedding, after the refreshments served right after the ceremony, the guests moved back from the beach to the resort. They had their cocktail hour and cake cutting by the pool, before moving in the beautiful indoor hall for the dinner. The resort’s banquet hall was elegantly decorated for the occasion. There was a huge led wall placed near the top table which was the focal point of the reception. During the party was done a first screening of pictures taken on those days.
These four days of Shivona&Nikesh’s crazy celebrations were truly to remember, for them and for their guests who lived an authentic Italian experience in this seaside resort.
